In 2024, EdChoice conducted national polling of nearly 15,000 parents to understand their views on K-12 education, covering topics like absenteeism, school choice, and mental health services. By January 2025, 51% of parents felt K-12 education was on the wrong track, while 74% supported universal Education Savings Accounts (ESAs). Parents also favored policies like open enrollment and charter schools, and most believed financial incentives would improve student performance. Many underestimated public school spending, but when provided with accurate data, their views shifted. Additionally, most parents supported higher teacher salaries and preferred more flexible schooling options for their children.
