Education freedom makes learning easy and fun. My name is William and education freedom has changed my life. For starters, I can get up in the morning, do school, check it, and be practically done by the time everyone else is up. I can move at my own pace, receive help in subjects I struggle in, and focus on subjects I love, like reading and history.
I’ve learned much more than I ever did in school. I used to get very overwhelmed in my writing class but now, because I’m at home learning at my own pace, writing has become one of my favorite subjects. I’ve learned planning skills and how to manage my emotions when I get stressed out writing. I can slow down or take a break and come back to it. The flexibility of home learning is a blessing.
There are many more perks to educational freedom such as having the flexibility to have many people and experiences pour into my education. I’ve done a lot of cool things this year. For example, I learned radius and diameter, watched, drive through history lessons, read Robin Hood, attended the Renaissance Festival, and submitted a product in the Arizona Business Fair.
My favorite thing I did this year has to be when my nana, who is a registered nurse, would come and teach anatomy to me. I learned about the many systems in the body and how they function. I learned about the parts of the body and how they work together. My favorite lesson was when I learned about skin. My nana used a cake as her illustration of the skin. Not only did I learn a lot, I was able to eat the cake afterward. Nana would never have been a teacher in a public school.
I’ve struggled with self control in the past. When I got a question wrong, I would get angry all the time. I was a mess in public school. But at home, I’ve learned to take a deep breath, count to ten, and move on. Now, I’m a happier person.
From learning self control, to all the fun stuff I did this year, it’s no secret that education freedom makes learning fun and easy.
